Alternate Site 2020APRIL

Leveraging PDX software to support your pharmacy business during the COVID-19 crisis

Businesses are shutting down amidst the global COVID-19 pandemic, but your pharmacy business is still operating, if not ramping up. Whether you have pharmacy stores that are too busy to handle their individual workload, or you have stores that need input from off-site pharmacists to keep up, we can help you. As we continue to adjust to living with the current health crisis, we want to remind you of a couple useful features to assist you during this time.

By utilizing the Alternate Site or Remote Pharmacist functionalities in EPS™, you can keep your stores running smoothly.

Alternate Sites

Alternate sites (workload balancing) allow you to easily perform tasks across multiple locations. With a higher workload in some locations due to the pandemic, you are able to ease the efforts of those sites by sharing tasks with lower volume stores.

Which tasks can be performed remotely?

  • Order Entry
  • Data Entry
  • Call Tasks
  • TP Exceptions
  • Data Verification
  • Patient Maintenance
  • Coordination of Benefits

This functionality is already available to all current Enterprise Pharmacy System™ (EPS™) customers. No additional licensing is required.*

To learn more about this feature in EPS, download THIS brochure. If you’re already an EPS customer, please proceed to the Customer Portal to view the setup guide.

Remote Pharmacist

In the time of social distancing, the Remote Pharmacist** functionality in EPS allows your pharmacists to perform their tasks, including remote counseling and product verification, from any location.

This service allows you to:

  • provide better service, patient care, and medication adherence for patients in remote locations that do not have a full-time in-store pharmacist
  • enable a single pharmacist to perform tasks for multiple stores in your chain

We are making Remote Pharmacist available to all EPS customers at no cost during the COVID-19 crisis. This service requires only one additional license for remote pharmacy, which you can contact your support representative to enable.

To learn more about this feature in EPS, download THIS brochure. If you’re already an EPS customer, please proceed to the Customer Portal to access the Remote Pharmacist setup guide.

Be sure to check your state regulations regarding this type of functionality. You may review our ongoing list of state policies, here.
